Old Single Front Door Before Remodel
New Front Double Door After Remodel
The photos in this section shows the before and after views of remodeling a front entry doorway. We purchased a home to remodel and flip, and this was the result of this portion of the remodeling.

The before picture shows a single, very large heavy wall door, with a side pane glass window. The window was frosted with 70's style raised design in the window pane. The window was sealed, and would not open to allow ventilation. Also, the light was an old classic style that was installed with the original build of the house, which was about 20 years old at the time. Finally, the facia boards were distressed, which was made to look like it was old with worm home trails vertically in the design of the wood. This was all painted a basic brown color, with dark brown trim and single pane windows.

In the after picture, we removed both the old single hinged door and fixed window pane, and we framed in the opening to center a new double hung door. Each door was a four panel raised door with pretty half moon window panes. We installed a new light with matched the design detial of the muttons in the new windows we installed. Also, we installed a three foot course of faux rock along the entire base of the house, and the a painted horizontal lapped clabbord for the rest of the facial on the house. We stained the door and finished with an exterior grade finish.

You'll notice we were able to successfully convert the entry from a dark and forboding, to a bright inviting new entry way.
