Front Exterior Windows Before Remodel
The photos in this section shows the before and after views of the removal of windows and exterior facia, which was upgraded with new windows and facia. We purchased a home to remodel and flip, and this was part of the overall exterior remodeling effort.
In the before photo, you can see the beginning of the demolition with only one column post wrap still remaining. Each column was wrapped in large adobe bricks which almost completely blocked these three front living room windows. We decided to remove these massive columns, and keep the small 4-by-4 posts, which was carrying the roof overhang load. The windows were all 20 plus years old, made of dark brown metal and single pane. The exterior facia was a brown distressed wood application, with worm holes in a vertical manner.
In the after photo, you can see the new dual pane side pull windows installed. The windows had a crossed mutton pattern which we were able to repeat again in the outdoor lights on the building. We installed a faux flagstone course along the bottom three feet of the building, and a painted blue horizontal clabboard above the stone. The trim, posts and overhang we painted a light beige to match the window color. And finally added some new topsoil with some green large leaf plants to finish the curb appeal. The new effect was just a dramatic on the inside, as you could actually see out for the first time, with the obstructions removed, and light was allow to penetrate into the dwelling.
