Basement Bathroom Floor
The photos in this section shows the before and after views of an unfinished basement remodel, which we installed a new half bathroom, and these pictures show the sub-flooring that we initially installed, and then the finished hardwood flooring we installed.
In the basement bathroom, we first installed a Dricore subfloor system, which provides a vapor lock barrier and separation from the concrete floor. Then we layed an under layment padding over the subflooring, and installed a free floating Armstrong Swiftlock Laminate Flooring for the finished treatment. We liked the look and feel of this product, as it has the appearence and feel of real wood. We were concerned that a real wood flooring system would be more trouble in a basement application, and we felt like we would get good life from the engineered laminate flooring system in this application. We were careful during the installation to stagger the planks to give the appearance of a real wood installation, and the end result was just as we had planned. We were very pleased with the final look.
