Pool Table Hardwood Flooring
The photos in this section shows the result a completing a remodel of our unfinished basement. We installed a new pool table in the great room, and in planning the layout we decided to install a section of hardwood flooring to frame the pool table.

Since this was an installation in our basement, we chose to install a special sub-flooring product from Dricore, which was manufactured and engineered specifically for a basement type of installation. And we found the best type of floor to installed in this environment over an engineered subfloor was the composite floating floor. We chose a product by Armstrong, named SwiftLock. We liked the look and feel of this product, as it has the appearence and feel of real wood. We were concerned that a real wood flooring system would be more trouble in a basement application, and we felt like we would get good life from the engineered laminate flooring system in this application. We were careful during the installation to stagger the planks to give the appearance of a real wood installation, and the end result was just as we had planned. We were very pleased with the final look.

We feel that the look of the hardwood flooring helps to anchor the pool table in the room. We were very careful to get samples of the flooring and compare them in color and wood type so they looked coordinated together. The flooring, along with the pool table and the center light and the recessed lights all work together in concert to define the space and setup of the room.
